Founded in 1989 and run as a family company until recently, Helping Hands still operate with family values at our core. And, with over 150 branches nationwide, not only are we one of the leading home care providers across England and Wales, we’re also local to you.
We are proud to have built our care service on the strength of our local reputation, recognising that our customers truly value having exceptional carers. That’s why we’re so committed to prioritising our carers’ training and development every step of the way.
At Helping Hands, every aspect of our care provision is independently regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW). Many other home care providers act as introductory agencies, and as such are not regulated at all. We provide a full-service home care offering that will manage your support from start to finish.
Audits conducted by a regulatory body to give you peace of mind that we do what we say we will do
Our carers are vetted and checked through a robust recruitment process which complies with the regulations
We have to comply with important regulatory standards to maintain our CQC and CIW registration
All training is in line with the Care Certificate, so our carers are trained to a nationally-recognised standard
Why is this important? It means we can ensure that each of our carers is delivering care to our high standards, and that they are all fully supported in their roles.
As direct employees, we manage each carer’s pay and benefits, including their holiday pay, pension contributions, overtime and travel expenses. Each of them has an assigned line manager and mentor, someone to go to with concerns or if they need extra support.
At Helping Hands, we have a rigorous recruitment process which means we only hire kind, empathetic carers who share our person-centred family values
We directly employ all of our carers, so we take full responsibility for managing their workload, maintaining their wellbeing and paying them
Every carer is fully DBS-checked and receives our industry-renowned training which equips them to provide a wide range of specialist care services
Hear about how having a live-in carer has helped one of our customers, Jane, to continue living independently at home whilst giving her loved ones peace of mind about her receiving the expert, compassionate support she needs on a daily basis.
Tens of thousands of families have benefitted from our wide array of person-centred care services in numerous ways. Our wonderful carers can support around the home in a variety of ways, including:
A carer can provide you with valuable company throughout the week, ensuring you don’t experience loneliness or isolation
Whether you’ve got a favourite board game that you enjoy or are part of a book club, we’ll help you enjoy your favourite things
If you’re living with a complex condition, our carers are expertly trained to offer nurse-led clinical support and personal care
From collecting it on your behalf to helping you organise and administer it, our carers are expertly trained to help you with your medication management
A companion can assist with errands such as collecting your medication, picking up the weekly shop or helping you with your bills
A carer can enable you to enjoy the company of a beloved pet by helping you walk and feed them, and even take them to the vet
At Helping Hands, we’re different to other care providers because we’re committed to going the extra mile for our customers. From our stringent recruitment policy to our thorough care assessments and our flexible, personalised support, you’re always at the centre of every decision.
Support needs can change over time – and sometimes quite suddenly – so it’s important we provide a flexible and adaptable service that helps you and your family feel supported at all times. That begins in your home care assessment, where we’ll take you step-by-step through the essential information to create your unique support plan, based around your daily routines and needs.
We will regularly review your support plan and carry out carer supervisions so we can respond to any changes and arrange for extra training or support if it is needed.
With visiting care, we’ll visit you as little or as often as you wish throughout the week to ensure you’re given the support you need to help manage your condition.
With care visits starting from as little as 30 minutes per week, your loved one's visiting care can be planned around their routines and schedules
Your loved one will benefit from having a type and level of support that is fully tailored to their specific needs and wishes
Your loved one's visiting carer will proactively help them to manage the symptoms of their dementia
Live-in care places a specially trained live-in carer in your loved one’s home to provide personalised care every day. A live-in carer offers a constant source of care.
With a live-in carer, your loved one will benefit from the round-the-clock support and companionship offered by having a carer in their home
A live-in carer will enable your loved one to get the most out of life and continue doing the things they really enjoy
We know that having a carer move into their home is a big step for your loved one to take, which is why we'll help them find someone who shares their interests and personality
